Description
An indole alkaloid with diverse activities; inhibits the growth of M. tuberculosis, M. avium, and M. kansasii (MICs = 50, >200, and 100 μg/mL, respectively); dose-dependently reduces membrane current of HEK293 cells expressing hERG at 0.01-100 μM; displaces the hERG ligand dofetilide (Ki = 3.9 μM); suppresses agonist-stimulated activation of TRPV1 and TRPM8 (IC50s = 50 and 9 μM, respectively); activates TRPA1 and stimulates calcium influx (IC50 = 8 μM); inhibits angiogenesis in chick embryo chorioallantoic membranes without apparent cytotoxicity at 2 and 4 μg per egg
