Description
A secondary bile acid; formed via epimerization of CDCA; a metabolite of LCA in human liver microsomes; inhibits taurocholic acid uptake in HeLa cells expressing recombinant NTCP (IC50 = 3.6 μM); inhibits apoptosis induced by DCA or ethanol in primary rat hepatocytes at 50 μM; dietary administration blocks DCA-induced increases in the number of TUNEL-positive hepatocytes in rats
