Description
A monovalent cation ionophore; exhibits an equilibrium permeability ratio 1,000-fold greater for lithium than sodium or cesium accross bilayer membranes at low voltages; inhibits the growth of twelve Gram-positive bacteria strains and C. miyabeanus and R. solani fungi on agar plates at C. chinensis weevils from 0.5-1.5 μg per insect; has mitogenic activity against T. telarius (LC50 = 9.2 μg/ml); reduces IL-1β- and cAMP-induced secretion of PLA2 from rat mesangial cells (IC50s = 43 and 33 nM, respectively); suppresses the proliferation of human T lymphocytes induced by allogeneic cells and IL-2 at 50 ng/ml; completely inhibits the formation of EAU in rats at 10 mg/animal/day ,
