PDPEA is an enhancer of fatty acid amide hydrolase (FAAH) activity.{56137} It blocks inhibition of recombinant A. thaliana or rat FAAH activity induced by N-acylethanolamine 12:0 (NAE 12:0) when used at a concentration of 100 µM. PDPEA (20 µM) inhibits NAE 12:0-induced decreases in cotyledon size in A. thaliana seedlings.

The maintenance of embryonic stem cells in culture typically requires feeder cells and various exogenous factors found in serum. Murine embryonic stem (mES) cells can be maintained in the absence of feeder cells and serum but require the leukemia inhibitor factor (LIF) and bone morphogenic protein (BMP) to prevent differentiation and promote self-renewal.
