A mixture of lysophosphatidylcholines isolated from egg; a major phospholipid component of oxidized low-density lipoprotein (ox-LDL), and it accumulates in animal models of atherosclerosis; pro-inflammatory; released from apoptosis cells in vitro and and acts as a chemoattractant for monocytes; induces demyelination of axons in vivo in rats (2 µl, 1%)
