A major metabolite of the insecticide endosulfan; a persistent organic pollutant; accumulates in the liver and gonads of wild silverside fish; toxic to freshwater fish (LC50s = 2.1-3.5 µg/L after a 96-hour exposure); decreases GSD and MDA in the liver and increases MDA in the kidney of mice at a dose of 3 mg/kg
