Description
An ellagitannin with diverse biological activities; an inhibitor of PTPN9 and PTPN11 (IC50s = 34 and 37 nM, respectively); increases glucose uptake in 3T3-L1 preadipocytes at 5 µM; induces apoptosis of HL-60 and NB4 APL, but not K562 CML, cells (IC50s = 7.5, 5, and >60 µM, respectively); reduces glycer-AGE-induced ROS production in HUVECs at 25 µM; reduces glutamate-induced ROS production and cell death in HT22 mouse hippocampal cells; inhibits H+/K+-ATPase activity (IC50 = 65.01 µg/ml)
