Description
An atrial natriuretic peptide; binds to ANP receptors on culture VSMCs (Kd = 1-2 nM) and increases cGMP dose-dependently; relaxes potassium-induced contraction of isolated canine renal arterial strips (10 and 100 ng/ml); dilates renal arteries in anesthetized dogs (10-100 ng/kg); decreases cardiomyocyte size and the amount of cardiac fibrosis and left ventricular modeling in a rat model of heart failure
