A GnRHR antagonist; inhibits GnRH-induced secretion of LH, FSH, and gonadotropin in isolated rat pituitary cells (0.001-1,000 nM) but does not induce histamine release in isolated rat mast cells (EC50 = >300 µg/ml); reduces serum LH and FSH levels in orchidectomized cynomolgus monkeys at 250 µg/kg; inhibits ovulation in rats at 2 µg/animal; reduces the intensity and duration of haloperidol-induced catalepsy at 10 µg/animal
