1,2,3-Triheptanoyl glycerol is a triacylglycerol that contains heptanoic acid at the sn-1, sn-2, and sn-3 positions. It increases levels of propionyl carnitine (Item No. 9001873), pentanoyl carnitine (valeryl-L-carnitine; Item No. 26563), and heptanoyl carnitine (Item No. 26551) in mouse blood when administered as 35% of calories in the diet.{52063} 1,2,3-Triheptanoyl glycerol (35% of calories in the diet) also delays the development of corneal kindling-induced seizures in mice and increases the pentylenetetrazole (PTZ; Item No. 18682) tonic extension threshold during the chronically epileptic stage in a mouse model of pilocarpine-induced status epilepticus.
