Description
A plant metabolite with plant fungal resistance, HIV inhibitory, and anticancer activities; induces resistance in Arabidopsis against the plant necrotrophic fungus P. cucumerina as a 150 µM soil-drenching solution; cytotoxic to A549 and MCF-7 cancer cells (EC50s = 4.6 and 12.9 µg/ml, respectively); inhibits HIV replication in infected H9 lymphocytes (IC50 = 16.4 µg/ml); has been used as a precursor in the synthesis of substituted thiadiazoles with anticancer activity
