An inhibitor of fibrinolysis that inhibits the interaction of plasmin with fibrin (IC50 = 3.1 µM in isolated human plasma); decreases ANIT-induced increases in the expression of the profibrogenic genes Timp1 and Col1a1, but not Itgb6, Tgfβ1, or Tgfβ2, and reduces protein levels of CK19 and type I collagen in the liver after 28 days in a mouse model of chronic bile duct injury
